tax rebate, superchips or CB
so im about to get my tax rebates back and am going to Superlift in Hot Springs for spring break next month which would i benifit the most from, im thinkin the superchips, but i have been needing a cb for a LONG time and i know it can be an important piiece of equipment. but its also a 7hr drive so i think the superchips would make that more tolerable woith my 4:10s, auto and 35s.
i know its 2 totally different things, but im a student and my tax check is small, after i get a full size spare ill only have enough left for one or the other (for now)

Get the superchips.
I've been on run's where either I or the driver (I would ride shotgun) didn't have a CB. Yes, it is nice to have so you can stay in the know and chat, but depending on what type of trail run, everyone usually stops at an obstacle, pulls to the side and goes over one by one. Just stay in the middle of the pack. Don't be the last Jeep with no radio.
Now for options to get a radio:
A: pawn shop
B: call mom and dad and tell them you need one for safety. Mom will want you to be safe, dad would understand
C: See if you can link up with a fellow Jeeper on here close to you and see if they can loan you their set up for the trip. Some installs are not too intensive.
D: I can understand the excitement, so I'm willing to spot you $20 towards the radio. If others join in you'll have enough for the radio you want. And knowing one day you'll save the world with that degree, pay me back when you can. Man I can feel the excitement!

I have a cb and no superchips and if I had to do it again I'd save my money and get a superchips first then get the cb. You'll get to enjoy the superchips everyday. On a side note it's a good thing that you're not getting a lot of money back on your taxes, every dollar you get back is a dollar that you loaned to the government and earned no interest on!

I would rather give them the money on loan than have to permanently give it to them . . . like this year.

Superchips by far! It makes it way more fun to drive. I just got a hand held CB from Frys for $40, even cheaper online. It fits in the center console, range sucks but you can get another antenna if you want. Range is fine for me, I just use it when I go out with other vehicles. Also I'm not a fan of mounting crap all over the interior. +1 on gas mileage of the superchips!

yea i know its an odd comparison, i was just saying that after the cost of a spare i will have a little over 300 left over and was wondering if i should use it all for the superchips vs would it be better/smarter to have a cb, dont know how many jeeps will be on the trails when im there so didnt know how important one would be.
