Right on, thanks for the super fast response.

I have 4" with 35s, stock driveshafts and 3.21s. I wheel it a lot too. Everything has been fine for about 8,000 miles now. I plan on getting new soon though, just for piece of mind I guess

4 door auto 4" Lift with 35's and stock gears, driveshaft, and anything else that you might think about changing under there. I dont rock crawl or anything but I do hit the mud holes on occasion. No problems yet and I dont plan on changing anything till it breaks.

I'm running a 4" Rough Country lift on an 07 2DR 6 speed with 4.10 gears and 35's. Added lower front adjustable control arms and dual front steering stabilizers. Have not had any trouble so far, been on this set up for about a year and 8000 miles. Shafts are still tight and boots still not torn.

Your question is a bit vague?

Are concerned about the long run or just to get by until you can afford to replace them?

As others in this thread have stated (and the FAQ in this section) ~2.5" is the threshold for longevity.

Even if you make provisions for interference problems, those of us with stock shafts and 3"+ of lift are on borrowed time. If you go offroad sooner or later you will apply enough torque to the driveshaft to fail the joints when the suspension is highly flexed.

Not an expert, but just sharing my experience.

I have a Zone Offroad 3" (springs, shocks, rear trackbar bracket).
35 in tires

I offroad about every other month.

I haven't had any issues. The only other related mod i really feel I need to do is regear because of tire size.

Edit: PS- I have about 15K miles on this set-up.

especially on the rear, Do you wheel the jeep often? Do you have adjustable control arms on the rear?

i havent found a straight answer yet. i have a 4 door 2010 and wanted the teraflex 3 inch. will the stock driveshaft work for onroad? im using it fo hunting to mild ruts and maybe a mudhole or 2 but mostly onroad. ddnt know if the boot ripped off during flex or just driving down the street. any help is appreciated

Your stock drive shafts should be fine on a 4 door with only 3" of lift. The problem is the automatic transmission has very little clearance between the skid plate and the "fat" front drive shaft. During flex, this can tear the boot and lead to drive shaft failure. Some people have cut out the skid plate to give more clearance for the stock drive shaft.
