Tailgate doesnt lock with fob after Teraflex HD hinged carrier install

So, I can lock it with the key. It turns easy. It WILL NOT lock with the fob.
I did a few test right now.
#1 my tailgate brake light DOES work
#2 the EVIC shows the tail gate open when open and closed when closed.
#3 the alarm actually does go off when the door is opened and car is locked. However, it seems there is a delay on the alarm arming. If you open the tailgate immediately nothing happens. Wait a minute and open it and it WILL start honking.

Funny you should say this, I too had my tailgate open when the doors were locked and set alarm off. I thought it was just a fluke and when I relocked it with the fob it was locked. Now you've got me wondering. Let me do a couple tests.

If it's got 5k miles on it I'd take it to the dealer under warranty. Does the Teraflex tire carrier involve messing with the wiring? If not and you attempt to fix ti yourself with no luck, THEN try to get the dealer to fix it, you could have some issues.

Peel open the inspection covers on the inside of your tail gate.
Check out the wiring and confirm that you have a good earth connection.
Also check that no wiring has been disturbed during the install.

I pulled the panel and checked the harness which seemed to be getting power. I think. I'm totally green when it comes to Electical.
I also swung by the dealer which said its the actuator. They'll install on Thursday and I'll post if that was truly the problem.
Thx all for the input.
