I understand that companies like Teraflex and Bestop need to have higher prices to be able to pay for marketing, engineering and manufacturing in the US, but I don't know anyone who would be willing to pay close to $1000CAD for a basket that sits over the rear tire and bolts on to the $850CAD tire carrier.

I need to make more money and learn how to weld.

I dont carry a spare on the tailgate. I just want a cargo rack with the basket just above the top of the tailgate. I may try build the rack out of unistrut and use a HF basket.

I called and they told me you only need the hinge. Not the tire carrier.
