This is one of those things I think about when I can't sleep. Wouldn't it be excellent if you had both options? rotating brackets so you could either open it traditionally or as a tailgate.

Mine is in the works now. Let me tell you it is not easy to do. The idea of using the CJ concept will not work without lot of fabrication. The CJ and the YJ all are flush at the bottom of the gate so the cj style gate can be used. JK is recessed so you'll have to but it out and make it even to the gate. We have couple approaches to the solution and should be down in two weeks.

Will somebody do this damn mod and yall stop yappin about it? I wanna see some damn pics. It ain't somethin I'd wanna do to my own Jeep, but I wouldn't mind seein it. If somebody ain't got the nads to bite it off, then hush up about it.

I NEED THIS MOD REAL BAD . I USE MINE LIKE A TRUCK ALOT . SOME OF YOU TALENTED FOLKS W/DEEP POCKETS NEED TO DO THIS . AS FAR AS THE SPARE TIRE GOES I WOULD JUST PUT IT IN THE BACK OR IN THE TRUNK OF MY WIFES CAR

Hope to have my JK back by the end of the month with the new gate setup. the gate is now shaved and smoothed. the fab shop is working out couple thing to make the drop gate.
