First, lets see if we can determine what caused it.
How many of these things apply to your Jeep?

Lifted

Aftermarket front drive shaft with a double cardan at the t-case

Adapter at the front of the t-case that places the double cardan farther away from the t-case

Angle of front pinion and the drive shaft greater than a few degrees

Re-geared

Traveling at or above highway speed

35" tires
i think 5:13 gears
6 speed

Would anything related to the front driveline matter if he was not in four wheel drive? OP was not in the highway in 4wd, correct?

The front driveline spins in 2wd, too.
Most of the t-case explosions were on the highway in 2wd.

That is pretty much the recipe for disaster.

How was your front pinion aligned with the drive shaft?
A double cardan at the t-case requires the single at the front to have no more than a very few degrees of misalignment between drive shaft and pinion.

Another factor is maintenance. How often have the u-joints been greased.

i have heard my driveshaft was at a pretty good angle. it didnt seem miss aligned, and they were greased less than 2 months ago.

That could just be someone saying "Yeah, that'll be fine". And, some people get away with it. It's all the things that add up that can cause the drive shaft to vibrate to a critical point.
