Your definetly gonna get mixed reviews here...Do what you think is best...
I personally change between 4000 - 5000 KM use semi synthetic...No longer than 5000KM...

Change it at the same interval as conventional.

Synthetic can better handle the very long interval engines that state 15k+ which is not something our jeep has. Synthetic is also a little more environmentally friendly as it's not entirely dug up oil.

Conventional non blended oil is very rare. The main reason to change this at intervals is just the organic nature of it. It can break down and release acids that did not get removed in processing. Again most oil is now blended to stabilize the oil which makes that somewhat a moot point. Improved distillation also helps to remove those harmful acids.

With modern motor oil: pick what makes you happy. My dad has an 88 YJ that has only seen dinosaur oil for 320k miles.
