Default switching tpms?

I was quoted $175 to switch the tpms does that seem right? It seems a bit much to me.

Why not just transfer them to your new rims/tires... all you need to do is ensure the tire shop uses/has the TPMS valve stems. I did this with my '11 JK Rubi... not a problem at all, and all I was out was the cost of 5 stems... like $12 in all.

I have them. I need them to take them out of my old tires and put them in the new ones.

I picked up a used set off here from another forum member last year for about $125 shipped if I remember correctly. Look around and you'll probably find something. Ebay too...

Easily done... all you need is a phillips head screw driver... unscrew the tpms from the current stem - careful not to lose the screw... have the shop install the new TPMS stems in your wheels, then affix the TPMS with the screw to the new stem on the new wheel... then mount tires. All done.

Sorry if this seems like a silly question...Can the Tpms be switched out of my 2011 JKU Rubi and put in any aftermarket wheel? Does wheel offset/backspacing play a ro9le at all in whether you can switch them out or not? I'd like to reuse mine in my in wheels that are a 4.5" BS.

Thoiughts.....

I don't know for sure, But I think you should be good switching them over and don't believe back spacing plays a role at all but i'm sure someone else that knows more can confirm that.

I recently purchased new wheels and tires(17x9 pro comp 7005 with 4.75 backspace & 33/12.50/17 dick cepak fun country ii) for my 2008 Sahara Unlimited. The tire shop that mounted, balanced, and installed my tires/wheels, also took my tpms out of the original tires and installed them in the new ones at no extra charge. They seem to be fine.
