Default Sway bar link... Keeps coming off.

Need some input from the knowlege group here....

I have TF quick disconnect front sway bar links. I have lost the cotter pin and the link has come off for the second time any idea why? Passenger side only.

Do you think I am shearing the pin somehow? The stud was loose a bit this time.

Thoughts?

I had the same problem, but it wasn't specific to one side. The pins just plain suck, I throw a zip tie on each one to keep it from working off. As far as the connect, make sure you use some lock tight on the nut. When mine came off I wrote tera flex and they sent me replacement parts and a small tube of lock tight. Top notch customer service.

yep, the first time it happened, TF hooked me up minus the lock tight. Their customer services is really phenomenal. I am just wondering if there is more of a probalem as this time the stud was still there. Like maybe there are some forces at work that sheared the pin?

There could be if your Axel is out of alignment.

Where your pins the standard O-ring with a bar type? We have updated the design to were they are more like a safety pin style.

The first was the saftey pin style (came with the kit)... The second was a standard from the replacement kit... The third is a standard stainless steel one I picked up from the hardware store.

How do I check if the axle is out of alignment?

Took the front and rear sway bars off my wifes and the rear off my Rubi. Flexs like a big cat off road. Thought the guys in my club were crazy at first, but once you get use to it its a blast. Just like wheeling though, you got to know the limits of your vehicle.

Look know sway bars

As an experiment, zip tie the safety ring to something so that we can see how it's failing. You should be able to see if't it's shearing.
