Default Swaping in a d44

Quick question, will the brakes off of my d30 fit on the d44? I plan on buying a stock d44 and swapping it in. Just wondering if anyone has done the simple swap.

Yep. All your ends will transfer.

Stock as in a G2 aftermarket, Sahara or rubi? A rubi D44 is not compatible with a sport or X do to spline count etc.. If its from a Sahara, make sure it does not have 4.10's in it unless your already running that gear ratio...

Battlefrog is right. Chances are since it is an 07 you have 4:10 gears. If you buy a take off D44 stock it will be 4:10 gears and the install will be simple. If for some reason you get just a stock D44 housing, your ends will work, but you will need gears, shafts and the locker. If you get anything else, ie: G2, PR or Currie, ends will work but you'll need new inards.

It will fit but you will need to regear the rear to match the 4.10 ratio in the rear44 if it doesn't already match. Or you'll have to regear both ends to whatever you like I.e. 5.13's

I'm glad this thread is here. I have a friend that wrecked a 4 door rubi and he wants me to buy his D44 and swap it with my D30. I dont know what year it is but I'm guessing I will need to regear it as I have an 07 w/4.10's. What else would I need to do and does anyone know how I would need to wire the E locker?

Rubi D44 is not compatible... Your jeep has a 27 spline count and I believe the rubi has a 32... Your transfer case will not bolt up to it...

Or if he pulled the gears, spline, and shafts and bought after market parts, then the D44 from the rubi would work?

I guess it would at that point... For all that, it may be cheaper and a lot less work to get a G2...
