That's interesting , did you change shocks as well? The TF BB will give you the same ride as stock if installed correctly. You haven't changed anything that effects the ride unless you changed shocks of course.
I have installed many of these kits and have never heard a complaint. Of course if your stock Jeep isn't riding too good then the BB won't help unless you add some quality shocks.

I have the same lift with no complaints. Big stiff off-road tires will affect ride more than that lift

As noted, every Jeep is different. I suspect that mine sat slightly higher stock due to the way it was optioned. Jeep matches coils the best they can, but nothing is perfect. The TF BB resulted in a caster that threw my 2-door for a loop. Easy fix? Yes. Just throw more money at it for adjustable LCA's or geometry brackets. Since I take my Jeep off road, I added armor. A couple hundred pounds may not affect a 4-door with higher coil rates, but it crushed my wimpy light coils. All in, it became a total mess.

As for shocks with the TF BB, I started with longer Bilstein 5100's. Those shocks sucked. Super stuff (nearly lost a kidney) and the install is total BS. I then bought the extensions and used my stock sport shocks. That was much better, but far from good. Then I swapped in rubi shocks with extensions. That was the best combo, but the ride was still crap.

I added the Northridge grade 8 hardware kit. That definitely helped, but the ride was still scary.

I lost count, but if you do the math, I spent a ridiculous amount of money trying to get a budget boost to work.

Fast forward to ripping everything off and replacing it with the OME kit with JKS track bars and AEV brackets, and it's night and day. This setup works well for MY Jeep.

All that said, I'm still not happy and will replace it all again next year (waiting until then only because I lack the motivation to do a third lift install in less than six months).

Oh, all comments are the same for stock tires and 35" Duratrac's. I tested everything with both sets so as to eliminate variables.

Am I an anomaly? Maybe. Google OME HD coils and most everyone loves them. I wish I had the standard. Ask Dirtman what he thinks about that.

They recommend welding the relocation bracket for the rear track bar. I did mine in my driveway no issues and did it by myself in two days. Was about 8 hours or so doing everything. Just needed help with bleeding the breaks. As far as the welds you can bolt it up and take it to a shop just two welds I have a mig welder and if you have a local muffler shop wont take them 10 minutes to do. I have a friend that ran the same lift and never welded his just drilled for the extra bolt they use on it. If you have all the tools already its easy to install just get a good drill bit to drill the holes for the spring retainers and relocation bracket.

Oh and I say around one 12 pack worth of work.

The AEV DualSport lift kit uses 5100 shocks and rides real good. The DS kit shocks are not the same as off the shelf 5100s though. AEV tunes the springs and shocks to match so the ride is about perfect. It is damped enough to handle fast rollers and supple enough to take the slam out of chuckholes and washboard. With geometry brackets this is also a great handling kit on the highway. At least that how it works out on a 2-door with light tires and a lot of on-board weight.

Pretty much any shock can be a POS if it doesn't match the spring and vehicle weight.

Maybe I'm old (39) but I have learned that going cheap gets cheap. After lifting jeeps, trucks, etc... when I bought my 2007 JK I decided to go with a true lift that was engineered for the JK and not just pucks or generic springs and shocks. I bought an Old Man Emu lift kit with the springs and shocks. Although it doesn't come with control arms and all that other stuff, its not an extreme enough lift to warrant that. It does have a few relocation brackets for the link in the back and brake lines. Its not rated as a 3 inch lift or anything but you will see from 2 to 2.75 lift out of it depending on what equipment you have on the Jeep. When you go for a higher lift, 3 or up I think, you must start replacing control arms, drive shafts, etc... and that CANNOT BE DONE CHEAP! So I went for just 2.5 of highly engineered OME lift and I've loved it ever since! The ride is just as smooth if not smoother than factory and I'm not having any issues with drive shaft boots or alignment since I stuck under the magic 3 inches.
