4" was fine, never needed aftermarket shafts but I don't wheel hard either. Pro comp shocks are a little stiff but only thing I really needed outside a basic suspension lift was adjustable trackbar.
Same thing with the body lift, the Jk hides a body lift really well and most kits come with bumper relocator bracket if the small gap in bumper bugs you.

Wow, what size tire are you trying to run? Start there and back into the lift size. Use as little lift as needed. 2.5" and flat fenders and you can easily run 37's. after 2.5" to 3", it gets expensive as you need drive shafts, etc. Someone can link you to the sticky thread about lifts and tire size.

I agree, for me, the jeep just doesn't look proportional without space between the wheels and tires and 4"-5" of lift looks perfect to me with the wheel well space and 35s. Now if u added flat fenders with that though, I think that would be too much gap and look like it needs larger tires. For me and I think a lot of people, whether they want to admit it or not, it was about what looked right. Large tires on a vehicle with minimum lift looks doesn't look right to me, but I can understand the lower center of gravity point being functional

cool dudes thanks for the feedback i'll just start with the 3.5" suspension lift and if im not happy with that or can't get big enough tires on that bad boy then i'll look to a small body lift.

Mine is 3.5 amd flat fenders. Wheels are Mamba Mr1s with 4.75" back spacing. When I get really flexed my tires still touch the fenders. Just for reference. Get what you want and it will be fine
