Default Superchips Tow Tune on 87 octane

Just got my Superchips Flashpac two days ago. I have been running the tow tune with 87 octane gas. I don't think that I'm having any pinging, but how can I tell for sure? Also, the 87 octane I am using is the kind without ethanol in it, not the 87 with 10% ethanol. Will I be ok? The fuel that we have around here are 87 w/10% ethanol, 87 w/o ethanol, and 91 w/10% ethanol. Not many stations even have 93 octane around here. I was thinking that maybe the elevation is different were I live and the 87 w/o ethanol(mid grade) is equivalent to the to 91 octane (mid grade) where Superchips does there testing? I just don't want to do any major harm to my engine. Thanks

Right now, I think nearly all gas stations use 10% ethanol. I run 87 with 10% ethanol in mine with 87 tune. So far, I don't think there's a problem. I am deaf so I can't hear pinging. So as of late... I am just running 89 octane with my 87 tune.

Just curious if you noticed a difference between the 87 tune and the tow?

For me (4door, auto, 5.13's, 35's, colorado altitude),

The 87 tune/gas was no different than the basic ProCal calibration for seat of the pants performance. I did pick up a bit of freeway mpg though.

The 91 tune/gas was actually worse performance than 87.

The tow tune with 91 was by far the best performance for me. (shift points, maybe?) I ran tow with 87 for 2 weeks, and it wasn't much different than tow/91. No issues with pinging, but went back to 91 'just in case'.

Not to mention the check engine light coming on and the trouble code of multiple cylinder misfire! (yeah, I wasn't thinking)

So, everyone that has had pinging issues had the check engine light come on? Also, who is the superchips rep on this forum? I am not getting my activation email for the superchips site forum.
