Superchips announces Jeep FlashPaq
#112
At work and actually drove my truck today. Don't know what I was thinking as I knew it would be here.
Some caveats in doing a side by side test with Hypertech having looked over the additional Jeep manual for the Superchips Flashpaq.
Superchips has a 93 Octane Tune and also will work with short or normal tube headers. Hypertech has stated that headers are beyond the scope of their current product and I have been running 94 Octane to relieve lean conditions.
Interestingly, the Flashpaq will also support Hemi upgrades as long as the factory ECU is retained (that is pretty sweet!).
The Superchips Flashpaq will also work with aftermarket cat-backs and CAIs. Hypertech has said in the past they support higher than stock airflows but not specifically CAIs and cat-backs. Darnell can correct me if that is an incorrect statement.
That said, having Headers, CAI and a cat-back exhaust installed on my JK is something that Hypertech doesn't support. They also don't support a tune for the 94 Octane fuel I run so any data that I collect is really outside what there product was designed for. So I might nix doing it all together, draw my comparisons by the butt meter and just run with the Superchips this evening. It wasn't going to be until the weekend where I could run some real side by sides anyway.

Hey, someone asked for a picture so I obliged. I thought the Zen box was a nice touch, sorry you weren't amused.
Anyway, here's a link to the thread with a review as I thought it really needed to be separated from the announcement thread once people started getting their hands on them.

Hey it's all good and actually posting the picture delayed me getting out and testing the thing.
I had two emails yesterday with two responses from Superchips. I sent an email this morning, get two email responses and a phone call from the OEM Engineer responsible for this product within an hour. The dialog screen on the Flashpaq that was overlooked has already been corrected for with a new update released this morning. They are also already investigating the initial speedo calibration failure I had although it was self correcting after having returned to stock and then again setting my tune. So far, so good and no complaints.
