Somebody chime in on the actual ware and tare on a 3.8, as I have, or the 3.6 engine by putting a SC? A lot of talk on this subject has me to a point that I'll buy some RIPP headers and call it a day. If I would win the powerball, I would Hemi up, but there are more important things I need $25,000 for than getting V-8 power. I plan on keeping my 3.8 until it craps out, yes the power from a SC would be nice, but for ware and tare, I'm siding with just headers.

If the misfire is for a specific piston then you may have a vacuum leak from your new manifold.

Default Issues

1) Don't run it without the tune. It wont know what to do and will probably ping horribly and may break something. The barometric code is probably because it does not know about the extra air it is getting and thinks something is wrong.

2) What is the miss-fire code? Check all your connections and make sure your injector wiring is correct.

Thanks. Yeah we went back and swapped out a plug that was faulty even know it was new. I also replaced the spark plug wires and the misfire code was gone Rpm extreme is making me a custom tune today, that I'll load tonight. I was under the impression that the diablo tune was at least ok and would run ok until I got the custom tune. That was wrong, it ran very rough and was detonating at 3000 rpms or so. So needless to say I hasn't been driven since. I can't wait to get her tuned and ready though, I'm super excited, basically it's gonna be like a whole different Jk.

Before you get too much further down the track double check that all your injector connectors are clipped in properly and that there is absolutely no possibility of a short (even a nick in the insulation from stripping back) in the injector loom. Any funny business here usually causes the injector not to close with the result that you will throw codes, the jeep will not run and you risk your cats because of the raw fuel pouring through the engine. I expect that if you get stuck on the road in this state and try to drive it home you will destroy the engine.

It is VERY difficult to get to once the blower is in so while you have some time have a poke around and make sure to be sure.

So after logging a few miles on this thing, I can honestly say YES it was worth my investment! My Jeep pulls pretty hard off the line and it hits at about 12-1300 rpm and it comes on smooth without much surge. Driving with power to spare in every gear has made driving my very heavy rig so enjoyable. I can upgrade to the intercooler down the road but may never need to as I'm very satisfied with my rigs power and drivability.

That is great news... Now I am jazzed and can't wait to install mine on the 16th. Thanks, any tips you can offer about the install would be great.
