Funny, I saw those in person at my dealer... they were OK looking but the seals around the glass didn't look the best. Maybe just the one example I was looking at. Great idea tho... the JeeTops look like the best option so far.

I can't imagine it being very hard. Just be careful getting it watertight and the more professional you want it to look, the more time you take and do it right.

Thanks all! I'll look for some salvaged FT to test my theory.
For finishing and practical purposes it seems I'll have to glue the glass instead of using a grommet. Otherwise it will accumulate water.
If I move ahead with the project, I'll post pictures. :-)

Search the f/s section; there were some Wade tops offered a short while back... easy mod for your FT.

Flat screen TVs on the underside of the panels with cameras on top? No cutting!

That way when it rains you can pipe in sunny day pics to feel better.

I was a bit wary about the acrylic but after looking around I saw that some folks even use that material in residential skylights. I'll give it a try. The person selling in the forum does not ship, but since I am thinking about only the front I can get only half directly in their store.

This top replaces your hard top with a new one with a sunlight option. They may be able to sell you a kit.
