We have all seen posts by those who have jumped in head first eyes closed and went with tall lifts, big tires then immediately complained. "My JK is a dog, it's slow; I now get crap MPG; it doesn't stay in the lanes at speed; my tailgate makes noise; it's so tall I need something to get in"; you know the posts.

On the OP's tire thread, there were suggestions to get a 5" long arm; truss, gusset and sleeve the Dana. Good suggestions for a crawler. Way overkill for a street rig.

True, it's up to the owner to do as they please. I'm just offering another option than over building a rig.

I wanted a 3" lift but it looks like to do it correctly I'll have to get a ton of additional parts and modifications which will cost me a small fortune
2" lift is not an option so after doing some research and making some calls I'm considering going with the TeraFlex #1251000 budget 2.5" lift kit w/ shocks

A rep I talked to yesterday even suggested the TeraFlex 2.5 lift kit w/o shocks and ordering a set of Bilstein shocks to match for ride comfort ....
I'm also really concerned about steering wheel jutter or shaking so apparently with the 2.5" I shouldn't really get any of that.

What is everybody's thoughts on this?
That is what I run with TF shocks. I have an early 4-door kit that gave me 3.5" front 2.5" rear, running for 4 years & close to 100,000 miles on it. When the 9500 shocks wear out I may try the Bilsteins. It is stiffer than stock, not as plush, but not jarring, less body lean on turns with the 9500's. TF gives you bumpstop extensions; brake line drop brackets; rear sway bars (swap stock rear to front- you don't need to get quick disconnects due to no off-roading); rear track bar adjustment bracket. A good system that's taller than a budget boost.

Still more than what's needed for street though. Pics to give you an idea.

Thanks Blackmarkt. Don't forget to budget in the spare carrier for the 35. You really want 5 matching wheels. You will see a slight performance drop in acceleration and MPG. When stock I could get 19 mpg, now I get 13 mpg with 4:10 gears on the 3.8. Keep it under 65 and mpg jump up. Cross winds are more of an issue now that the taller flat sides act as a sail. It's not bad, but keep it in mind. You don't have to but I got an adjustable front track bar and front lower control arms to do it once and dial it in. I too drive more on pavement, but I like to get it in the dirt where it wants to live.

Hope you did not take offense to my comments. I was just trying to give sane options: there are some that will suggest drool worthy ideas.
