I prefer the stubby front...looks clean, closer to the older models, and doesn't rub. Also added benefit of crap not getting thrown up onto the end of the bumper 30 seconds after you wash it!

For the rear, like others have said a full bumper isn't a bad way to go. I've narrowed my wish list to a few choices, mainly being that it needs a carrier and is somewhat aesthetically similar to the rest of the hard components of the Jeep. I like it when manufacturers are able to get FORM and FUNCTION in one satisfactory package.

Cheers.

Rear...nothing. We dont have rocks so much, only forest areas so it´s much easier to wash it clean without...inside frame rails also with high pressure water hose.

I want the biggest chunk of steel I can put on! Thinking Tubes or ENFORCER grille. I want something that pops out to add more "impact" space between the fender and the grille (like our uparmored HUMMVEEs have)

Default Pure Jeep or Teraflex?

I'm interested in a non winch stubby front bumper with stock foglight ports. I have narrowed it down to the PJ and Teraflex versions. What do you all think. Looks like the Teraflex version can be set up for a winch later if I changed my mind.

Just ran into my yard at work to snap a few pics.....

Here is why.

With a full length bumper there would be no way for me to climb this "ledge"

thats a stubby and it certainly offers full protection.

Ah, see I don't normally think of that type of bumper as a stubby (suppose it is though, shorter than stock). It still goes across the full tub width. I was commenting on the stubbies that are only as wide as the frame rails that some guys have. In those cases the corners are fully exposed and ready to be smashed.

In your pic the only thing that could get caught up might be the fender flare, but even then it would only pop up and off - if a stock flare. And that could still happen to a full width setup if something like a stick or log got in there. The RR's can take quite a beating I hear, mine are on order and being made to flush up with a rear full width bumper. Cops here prefer to see full width setups or mudflaps on rigs, or they get a little twitchy with the ticket writing pens...

I went with the mid width just because I like the looks of it.
