Stock manual '16 Rubicon Hard Rock. Leveling kit or Mopar 2 in. lift
Hi. The 2016 Rubicon Hard Rock has stock 31'' tires.. I wish to bump up to 35s. I've come to learn that a leveling kit lifts the FR 2'' and the RR 1''. It being a Rubicon, this might be enuff lift but I have doubts since I want to retain the stock fenders. What are your thoughts on this ? If that's a no go, the Mopar 2'' lift kit is labeled as a 2'' but from what I've learned here and on other websites, it lifts more like 2 1/2''. Being a manual transmission, would this require a regearing or would the 4.10s be adequate ? I'm not into rock climbing. The only off roading I do is gravel roads when hunting & fishing - nothing like Moab & such. I'm aiming for a low center of gravity. Thanks so much for your advice. Cheers !

3.6L manual with 35s and 4.10s would be fine for your use. If you want 35s and the factory fenders, I'd go with the 2" lift. If you net an extra 1/2" out of it not gonna be a big deal. 2.5" and 35s is a nice combo in general as far as looks and function.

Hello Viking99... Real experience I have 2 JKUs..both on 35s..both 6spds.. Non-stock wheels... 2013 - 3.73 gearing .with AEV 2.5" Dual Sport we got a 4 inch increase over 33's at time of install. 2016 with AEV 2" Spacer lift and it was actually 2" lift. 4.11 gearing. I would not do the level kit based on what we did and what we got.. Both are DDs & the 4.11 is delivering what we want. IMO the 4.10 will be FINE... The MOPAR 2" is a good lift. Here is the 2" spacer lift with the stock fenders on a Sport JKU:

Jay, your response and resharp's have convinced : the Mopar 2'' lift is a go. Your pics are appreciated as they show exactly what I envisioned. It's good to know the gearing is adequate. Thanks for helpin' me out with your input. Vaya Con Dios !

Hey Viking, just wanted to share this with you. I have the Mopar 2" lift with the stock Sahara size tires. Plenty of space to run 35s and I'm looking at eventually regearing to 4:10 so I can run 35s. It's been a great lift and the new driveshaft prevents contact with the exhaust if you choose to flex the setup. I would also recommend geo brackets to help with alignment issue. The Mopar set up does come with cam bolts, but the geo brackets are a safer way to go.

Thanks, Jim. The height increase on your JK gives a good view of real result. Your comment complements those from resharp & Jay. Thanks for posting the pictures. Bonne route et salutations de Montréal.
