My daughters boyfriend has 2012 JKU sport with manual trans, 3.21 gears and 35" tires. It sucks compared to my 2012 with 3.73 rear and stock tire size. He cannot use 6th gear. Just not enough HP at the low rpms caused by the larger tire. He also stalls out some when starting from a stop. A little harder to get it going. Of course some people say it is tolerable but most don't. Probably those that say it is tolerable convince themselves of that because they don't want to regret the 35" decision.

I have my jeep sitting on 35" BFG KM2 with nothing but a 1.5" Teraflex leveling lift I have stock 3.21 gears, but used an AEV Procal to adjust the ECU for the larger tire size, runs just as good as stock and I've only lost maybe 0.3 mpg.
I have proper extended bump stops so I have zero rubbing on the inside of the fenders, only place I rub is a little bit on the ends of the inside bumper when I reverse too sharply.

I have driven plenty of JKs with 3.21s and 35s and none have driven like stock. The Procal changes the tire sizes but with an Auto trans won't shift properly because it is not turning enough RPM. Of all the transmissions we have to repair/replace on the JK the majority is 3.21 with 35+ tires......

I'll just add another issue that comes from just adding 35s . Brakes should also be upgraded, when you add larger heavier wheels and tires you see that there is a significant differance......
