How did you extend those rubber bump stops?? I'm worried because I have the same backspacing and it no longer touches the rubber bumpstops and Im afraid it will hurt something.

My 35's fit on the stock carrier. The bottom of the tire rest on the edge on the bumper.
I little trick, I flipped my drop hitch upside down, with the ball installed. You can feel the tire drag on it when shutting the tailgate. The ball hits in the middle of the tire giving extra support.
About 5k miles and no damage to the gate so far.
Also no rattles.

Anyone know the weight limit for the stock carrier? That is my biggest concern.

Do the Daystar tailgate bumpstops extend further than the stock ones? It says that you can trim them but my tire is sitting 1/2" -3/4" from the stock stops and i want good contact to prevent vibration. I planned on doing this and the Off Camber spare tire reinforcement kit when i do the third brakelight mod. Any thoughts???

Yes, they are longer. I've got a set ordered for the same reason.

Unfortunately for me, not long enough. Rather useless, with my particular offset bracket and 35"x12.5" tires on stock Moab rims.

With my stock rims I had to adapt up and out one inch to clear. Then the daystar bumpers don't line up with the tire. Also had to extend my 3rd brake light bracket. Bbeen that way for 2 years with no problem. I did adjust the wedge shape block by the tailgate latch this week to get rid of some tailgate rattle.

i fit my 35/12.50/17 on my stock tire carrier i just got longer bolts that fit the same hole and got little pieces on metal pipe to act as a spacer so the tire carrier doesnt sit on the tail gate anymore and i can still fit my tire on the back. i havent had any issues with it squeaking because the tire sits on the bumper for support and give the tail gate some support so it wont screw the gate up. ill try to get a pic up soon

Default Problem fixed

I fixed the issue by ordering a Smittybilt bumper with receiver and tire carrier.

Thanks for the advice.

Vince
