Default Stiff ride fix? Pro Comp 2.5 inch lift

So I ordered a Pro Comp 2.5 inch lift for my 2011 Sport from the Jeep dealership. They were pretty persistent that this was a good lift. To my surprise, I come home and read reviews about how terrible and stiff the ride is. I have only spent about 300 bucks on the Pro Comp lift, so I was wondering, in order to soften up the ride a bit, would it benefit me to go ahead and spend the money on some upgraded shocks to go with this lift or is there a spring rate issue that I am ignorant of?

I was thinking Bilstein or OME (leaning). I've also heard Rancho is good.

Note to self: research before you buy.

I have a 4inch pro comp lift on my 2010 JK. The ride is horribly stiff on mine as well! Like you, I'm interested in how to make it more comfortable.

Yep I changed my shocks from pro comp to Fox and it helped dramatically. Eventually I will replace the rest of the pro comp suspension to Teraflex or EVO as money permits, control arms, track bars, then the springs.

Yes very stiff. The ProComp shocks are junk. The MX6 is better. I put Billstein 5100 and what an improvement! If I were to do it over, I would look at other lifts like TF or Clayton.

Well, the parts are on order right now from the Jeep dealership and I have already paid for the merch, but as for the Pro Comp lift being installed..not yet. I know it was ordered from 4wheelparts.com. Anyone have any experience with returning merchandise to this vendor?

Been here and done that, the price looks so appealing yet the end result/ product is a piece of junk. You will hate driving your jeep
with this lift on it.

From my experience with TJs they solved this stiffness with shocks like OMEs.

I ran pro comp on my truck before this jeep, really likes it but I will say if I had done more home work first, I wouldn't have installed the 4" on my 2010 JK. Very unsatisfied with it and when money permits it off. I may try some bilstein shocks to help but just don't know????
