Default Steps or step/slider combo - suggestions?

I have three kids that would be climbing in/out of the back of my 4dr jeep as well as my self and wife in the front. I think it would be beneficial/helpful to have a good solid step for them to get in.

I also like the idea of having some protection along the sides as well. I'm not a rock climber of hard core offroader, but I think it would be beneficial all around.

From what I can tell a lot of the step/slider combos I've seen don't really help much for shorter people (i.e. small kids). However, a little always helps and may be just enough.

I don't want mechanical steps or something that hangs down real far or is flimsy.

With the above criteria in mind what would you suggest?

LOD all the way. Outperform Ace in looks (biased), function on the trails and steps. They are a little more $ but you won't regret them. Strongest non-weld sliders you can get. Just depends on budget for this item.

Lots of options out there, but I'm partial to Poison Spyder. Their quality is unparalleled and the looks are off the charts with a little creativity (see images). However, they are pricey:

Rampage folding steps , they sit just low enough not to be in the way and make it way easier to get in for short people

Hanson makes some real nice bolt on sliders that have recessed steps at the door built in. They are solid.

Jaker,
What front bumper is that. Is anything custom on it or is that how it comes.
