Default Which steer stabilizer to get?

Doing some homework on quality steering stabilizers. I've been told Fox is probably the best. Quadratec lists 1 for $130 and the top of the line model for $355.
I have Ranchos all the way around my JK now, but my parts guy tells me they're still a cheap, Mexican made shock.
My question: is the midrange Fox shock better than the Rancho? Or is there another brand that's reasonably priced and superior to the Rancho? Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Is something wrong with your stock one?

Fox is definitely an awesome way to go! I want the Fox shocks with res. And the Fox 2.0 stabilizer is awesome!

I was having death wobble issues. All other components have been checked and hardware replaced, so the steer shock is the last piece of the puzzle.

I have a rancho steering stabilizer and haven't noticed it to be inferior? In fact they are pretty decent quality shocks dollar for dollar.

If you still have DW there is something still wrong. I can drive my JK w/o a SS and it drives fine. The SS is only going to mask a more serious issue. The stock SS should be fine. I would have kept mine, but it was plain worn out. Personally I would double double check everything before you install a new SS. I currently have a Bilstein SS since I have Bilstein shock I wanted everything to match. The stock SS would do the same job though. My $.02

I understand all the potential problems with DW and have checked things out, ball joints, bushings, etc. Our local Jeep repair specialist, Jeep Doctor, tells me a quality SS has solved 98% of DW issues that he knows of. So I want to upgrade without shocking the bank acct out of $400.

You have something else going on. Stock stabilizer, or any stabilizer, is only going to mask the issue that is causing the DW.

I also have a Rancho SS and am pretty happy with it.
