Steel or aluminum poison spyder flares
#12
Take a look at the crawler concepts flares. I used to feel bad thinking of buying CC stuff because i felt like he was kind of stealing PS designs, but after hearing about how PS treated my local Jeep shop when they became a dealer I don't have any qualms about not giving Poison Spyder my business. In fact I wish I hadn't bought my PS fenders.

I went for the aluminum over the steel because I live in a area that they put a lot of salt on the roads in the winter and the aluminum holds up better.

I put rockers and corners on my TJ and they felt heavier than 40lbs. I did a lot of surface prep and painted myself with a good base coat primer. Wasn't that big of a deal but aluminum has to be squeaky clean for any paint adhesion. I plain to put some Alumiunums on my JKU. The sheet metal version is TOUGH! The aluminum, I would think the aluminum version rockers would show scraps and gouges easily being a softer metal. I can say from experience though the sheet metal is armour

As the PS Aluminum flares weigh less than half of the steel ones, they can't be as strong as the steel.
To be as strong or stronger than steel, the Aluminum has to be thick enough, and the weight gain would be less than 50% -- which isn't the case with these flares.

Ok thanks how was the install on the flares . I was reading up on the psc flares and that they redone there flares because of fitment issues and the updated ones fit a lot better
