I live in Bloomfield IN. Home of the Hi-Lift jack. I was looking for a used 4 dr when I came across a jeep salvage yard that just happened to have a 2007 Sahara Unlimited that the insurance company had totaled. I made the 14hr trip with my brother-in-law and hauled it home.

I will get into what was damaged as I go, but here it is.

I'm hoping as I go, you all will follow along and give me your feed back.

The conclusion I came up with was there was very little damage to things that I planned on keeping. The front dana 30 was destroyed. I replace it with a new 44. The front bumper was destroyed. So that leaves us with the fender, transmission pan and the door damage. I can deal with that.

So lets say you were looking at a 2007 Sahara. 19000 miles and in perfect condition. You look at the guys selling it and say " you keep the front bumper, front axle, and the side steps and fender flares on the driver side." And the guy agreed. Would he take $12000 for it. Would you give it?

I would, Hell, I did.

I know what some of you are saying, "but when you're done with this you will have a jeep with a rebuilt title."

You're right. I can deal wth that too.
