Stalled in Water Won't Start

I drained the oil and it was not milky at all. There were a few bubbles at the top but it did not appear to be water. Anyhow, it's drained and I'm going to refill it with new oil.
Would you recommend I try to start it again or pull the plugs?

id pull the plugs and bump the starter. watch to see if any water shoots out.

This happened to me when I first got the jeep . . . hit a puddle too fast, stalled, shit bricks, and had to get towed home. a day later I checked all the connections and it started right up . . . just needed to dry out.

Done this as well. Once you confirm no water in the motor, let it dry out. Probably got the starter saturated thus the "click" when you try to start it. Give it a day.

Well, I'll be waiting until the AM when the rain stops to put the oil in and give it a test. I've got to admit I'm a bit worried. But, I greatly appreciate the posts. Thanks guys.

Mind you checking the air filter is not enough, you need to remove the intake tubing which leads to the carb, Check all the small lines (rubber tubes etc) attached to the intake, Then mix a small amount of gasoline & methylated spirits (aka Denatured alcohol) and slowly pour a small amount into the carb along with other areas that may seem floored... don't over flow.. you just want to vaporize any water which maybe in or around your carb.
