So, a few months ago I had a lousy welder weld on the JKS rear track bar brace on my rear axle and the guy didn't let it cool in between welds. all kinds of stuff got too hot. bad news. so now, the wheel closest to the side where the bracket was welded on squeals while coasting but not when accelerating or braking. Do you guys think it's more likely to be the bearing or E-brake assembly?

Probably neither I'd say you bent a flange Jack it up and see if wheel wobels you will need a helper to be safe

Bet it does squeal with light breaking as well but not normal breaking

well, it doesn't squeal with braking at all. As soon as I step on gas or brakes, it stops. It also doesn't squeal when it's wet either.

where/what is this flange you're talking about? I was pretty sure it had to do with destroying the grease in something from heat since it happened right after the welding.

On axle shaft you will see your rotor move with wheel spin jacked up. Have someone give it gas awhile it is in the air and watch that side be careful through. No grease in rear it is lubbed by diff oil.

Ah that makes sense, but not sure I understand what the flange is. Are you talking about the metal flap that surrounds the rotor?

The flange is the round plate on the end of your axle, well known for bending, both of mine have been bent.

Doesnt squeal when wet, my guess is brake related.

Also, diff oil flows through your axle tubes to grease the bearings. I seriously doubt the welding f'd up your bearings.

Check your flanges as suggested though and inspect your brake pads.Sometimes those crappy clips on the pads either fall out or get f'd up.
