Question Speedo question

How urgent is it to have my speedo recalibrated? I just got 265/75/16 installed on last saturday. They replaced the puny 225s

I have an auto, do I need to worry about the trans overheating or anything?

Thumbs up Thanks for the reply!

That's what I was thinking as well, just wanted to confirm.

I drove a litte bit with the overdrive off this afternoon, it seemed a little better

I realize that's not a huge jump in size to warrant the OD off but just wanted to see how it would do.

I'll be saving up to get the Diablosport, since it's a bit more affordable than the Superchips

It may not be necessary at all. You didn't give the full size of your OEM tires. You only gave us the width. You only need to be concerned with recalibration if the height of the tire is different. You 265/75-16's are approximately 32 inches tall. I know my OEM tires were approximately 32 inches tall.

Post My stock tires were...

225/75-16s

I still need to have it recalibrated, right? Will this cause any issues if not done right away?

Your OEM tires are only about 29 inches tall so your speedometer/odometer will be off a couple mph.

What you're saying confirms what I saw on Discount Tire's calculator

So, can I wait to do this or not?

It is completely personal preference. If you can deal with the pathetic performance, wait. If you hate the lack of power, re-gear. No one can tell you how you will feel about it...

And with 4 inches, be sure to also keep an eye on that front driveshaft.
