No, that would be a pizza cutter...
And finally after 9 pages of arguments, some one tried it...and big surprise. It looks like a$$, and impairs visibility.
If you put a full 35" spare on there, even a 9.5" pizza cutter, you would need to install a periscope.

You got it wrong - you're supposed to stand the tire up, leaning it on the windshield. Then you can look through the wheel at oncoming traffic. Plus - if you still can't see - lean out your door.

Just an idea. I had a Landrover a long time ago with the tire on the hood in Libya where I grew up - and then I bought an FJ40 Landcruiser that had been modified - and also had the tire on the hood. Can it be done to the JK? I like the look - but I'm concerned about the weight on the flimsy hood - the heat from the engine(even though I have the under hood insulation) and the Legalities of this nowadays. Anyone have any input? I live in NC now. I realise that to open the hood - you'd have to remove the tire.

How about just putting the rim on the hood...to be different!! End it already....
I would stick with the roof or the rear. How about showing some pics of a spare on a roof cage?!
