I don't wheel, just light trails for camping and on the beach. I like the looks of the off camber one and the Besttop one. I plan on adding a rear bumper/tire carrier eventually, but I don't have the money after purchasing tires/wheels/lift now for it. Any opinions on which is better? I'd probably replace it eventually but need something for the tine being.

I think the big thing is getting extended bump stops so the tire is held tight against the tailgate.
I have 35's on my stock carrier with the extended bump stops. Its been on there over a year/20k miles everything from snow ice to 50+ down dirt roads and at times all 4 off the ground.

I just took my 35 off because the tailgate started making a horrible rattling/clanking noise when I would hit bumps while driving in the city. I too have the mbrp kit installed, but that is only a band aid for the bigger issue. My tailgate was starting to barely sag at the hinges. Ive read in the past that others have experienced the same as I. Do a search and you will find lots of info on this. The hinges cant handle that much weight over a long period.
Just my
It also took mine 3 years to sag.

Don't want to threadjack but rather than starting a new thread...
I just put some new wheels on my Jeep with 4.5" BS. I'm still using the stock 32" Goodyears and they aren't making contact with my rubber isolators anymore.
Should I invest in the Daystar isolators? And if I do, would I be able to make them fit when I upgrade tire sizes in the future?

To the OP of the thread. I have seen a few damaged gates due to this. Before you cause thousands in damage get it off the gate. I personally went right to 37s after my lift and pulled it off the tail gate and put it in the back till i bought a new bumper. took me over 3 years but my gate is in solid shape.
