Default Spare tire carrier?

I need some advice about which spare tire carrier i should go with to put 35inch procomp spare on. My jeep is a 2010 sport and has the stock carrier on it for now. Im worried about it not fitting properly and i want to keep the third brake light

Over time it will not be good for the gate. It is too much weight to have on there for a long amount of time. That being said I did run with my 35 on mine for a couple of months before upgrading to the teraflex system. I bought a piece that attached to the 3rd brake light mount that would raise the tire up and stick it out more to clear the bumper and it worked just fine for a couple of months.

You wil hear pros & cons about this, but IMO, it's too much weight for the stock carrier. It would be alright for a short period. There are several to choose from just decide on your budget. I have the OrFab & really like it. Welcome to the forum.

Look at the or-fab or the teraflex both are really great.

Probably not a good idea. The factory mount is fine. the bad part is it is mounted to the tailgate. You can order the Tereflex hinge and use the factory mount to save you some $$. Good luck

I have the MBRP Spare Tire Bracket Reinforcing Kit (29.99) and the smittybilt spare tire relocation bracket (49.99). Works great and is solid. I'm going to run this setup until it gives me a reason to change it and its only $80

I had a Smittybuilt "oversized tire carrier" on my 2010 JKU Sahara with 37X12.50R18 BFG KM2 tires

Don't know why everyone keeps saying they will damage ur tail gate cause the tailgate was the only thing left in tact after i rolled her in Aug.

You can find plenty of threads out there where the spot welds on the inside of the tailgate have come out due to the excess weight of a 35 on the stock carrier. In some extreme cases, the tail gate has peeled like a tin can. It's up to you if you want to take that gamble. I put the Teraflex hinged carrier and adjustable tire mount on mine. It works great and I'm not worried about doing damage to my JK. Hit up David at Northridge and he'll get you well under that $700 mark if you want both.
