Spacers

1.5" spacers on each side will increse your overall track width by three inches, you would be surprised at the level and feel of stability this adds. I am 100% confident in the Spidertrax and TeraFlex spacer when installed and maintained accordingly. The only real downside to spacers (or wheels with different offset for that matter) is that if you do have a slightly bent axle or bad ball-joints the extra width will exagerate any pull or shimmy, especially one you may not have noticed before. As long as your axle is true and you steering is in good condition they are a great addition to even a stock rig!

I was wondering the same thing for my stock unlim.
Do spacers contribute to premature ball joint issues?
Another silly question....
Do you notice more debris on the side of your jeep due to the wider stance?

No more than wheels with a greater off-set. Simple answer is yes, but the amount they contribute is negligable.

Yes, same as you would get with wheels with greater off-set.
Wheels with the appropriate backspace will always be the preffered method, but for an unmodiffied rig, or when price is an issue spacers are a good option as long as they are installed and maintained as per the manufacturers recomendations.

I pur spidertrax on mine at 8000m with stock tires, been on ever since. I like the stability feel . It kills me on some of the tj trails around here though with the 37x13.50 on cragers. I tend to ride up between the trees and or dig around them. Puts me at 3.0 backspace.

If you plan on keeping the stock rims when you get bigger tires then, yes get them because you will need to get them eventually anyway.
If you plan on getting new wheels (with more backspacing than stock) when you get new tires dont waste your money now.

I ran the stock Rubi tires before and after I installed 1.5" spacers and I noticed a significant increase in the amount of debris on the Jeep body and fender flares after I installed the spacers. The spacers push the stock tires 1/2"+ outside the fender flares and when the tires clear out now, they spray a rooster tail of smarm up the side of the Jeep.
