Yeah I know they are dorky. Really need them for the kids. I tried the search function and it kept going wonky on me. Could someone point me to a couple threads or provide advices? Not looking to spend much...how are the Rugged Ridge ones for the $$$? Thanks!

there are a lot of good rocker guards that serve as good steps as well. i personally like the lod rocker guards and have run them for years.

I picked up a set of stock steps off someone on this forum for around $100. I run the Rubi rails in the summer and steps in the winter.

Vote for ACE too. Super tough. Scrapped it up climbing a rock yesterday and all it did was lose power coat, no real damage. They have a lifetime guarantee too. If you break it while wheeling, send it back and they'll get you a brand new one. Can't beat that!

Oh fudge!!! I was falling in love with the Ace and then did more reading that for little little kids it's hard for them to use as a step. I picture a wet tennis shoe a slip and a fall and perhaps an injury. Besides this is a Xmas gift and the budget is literally $200 :(

And yeah...no rock crawling. Perhaps light trailing and surely deep snow banks in the near future...

I got the Westin Nerf rails for $214 with free shipping and put them in myself.
My daughter is 4 and she can get in and out pretty easy.
So far no slips in the rain!
