Default Soft to Hard coversion?

Hey All!

My partner and i are considering doing a soft to hard top conversion. Just wanting to know if its worth the cost as my local jeep dealer where i get it serviced said it might be a bit pricy..

Has anyone done it?

Some people are willing to trade if that's what you're looking for. If you want to keep the soft top too, head over to the for sale section here and you can find one cheaper for sure. Craigslist also has quite a few. Buying one new will easily be $1.2k (USD). I've seen them as low as $400(USD) on Craigslist and on here.

The hard top is quieter and more secure. I like the hard top but I wish had the freedom of the soft top sometimes.

Another thing to consider is wiring in the rear defroster and wiper and the switches involved to use them. The parts will set you back another $300 in the states.

I don't know what the prices are like down there in Melbourne. But recently bought a hardtop for my 14 jku off a 2012 for $1400(USD) which is middle of the road as far as prices go around my area and this time of year. Knowing what I know now. I would have gladly paid double for it. I LOVE my hardtop

Its a 4 door and yeah i got quoted around $1500 AUD, im not sure if it included the extra parts (wipers etc) though so i shall check on that.

Is it easy to install yourself?

Super easy for 2 people.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYUvxzbV6TM That's all there is too it, my friend.

It can be done with one person, it's not heavy, just an awkward size/shape to do alone
