I dropped in a K&N filter same time I installed the snorkel. It might be psychological because of the growl you now hear but I swear she felt a little peppier.

You cut a notch out of the hood. It attaches to the fender bolts under the hood, not the hood itself.

I love my snorkel but no performance gains that I've noticed. It does give me peice of mind and I get more complements on it now lol.

I'll post up a few pictures when I get home from work tonight.

It is the eBay (cheap off brand china made) snorkel. However, I bought it from a guy in California for $180 shipped. It's not as flimsy as I thought. Plastic is hard, reminds me of same plastic as the VDP end caps I put on. It fit very well, no complaints, and used the AEV instructions.

It came with everything needed, although the rivets were a fraction too big to go through the finishing black plate. So I drilled it to make those rivets work.

I love it. For half the price (come on, there's no way I'm paying $370-380 for plastic), it works well. I haven't seen any mpg gains, but that's probably also due to the winter gas.

Mine is the ebay snorkel too. Im very happy with it. I took the advice of somebody else on here and had all the metal parts powder coated and the look much better. Just make sure you can bring yourself to cut your hood ( I did it while my wife was shopping or she would have killed mehttps://www.jk-forum.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.png) and have a rivet gun handy. You won't regret it.
