Why give them one penny more then we have to already?
Who knows, that money you paid them for that snorkel may buy the SAM that knocks your ass out of the sky if we ever have to tangle with them. Karma, they say, is a bitch.
At the very least buy a South Korean or Taiwanese knock off. At least they aren't f'in Commies.
Yes, I'm sure my $180 for a snorkel is going into funds for SAMs, I mean, seriously? I'll fight that when the time comes. I'll be sure to think of my snorkel should I find myself head to head with a Chinese missile.
Just as predicted, the debate is full on. I'm stepping aside because this is going down the same old road and it's been beat to death on here. It's a plastic tube, spend your money however you want.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble here but your Jeep has factory installed parts that were made in China. The most American made car is the Toyota Camry and they still have parts from Japan in them. If you think the big three auto makers in America sell you American made vehicles, think again. Most GM (Government Motors) are from Canada and Ford is Central America.

Yeah I know. I was saddened but not surprised to see the stock Moabs on my '12 Rubi where made in China. It's why I'm not buying new wheels when I upgrade my tires. I'm not giving the ChiComs any more money than I have to. I do research where the products I buy are made. If I can't buy made in the USA, then I try and buy Canadian or South Korean, or even Taiwanese. Quality products made in free countries by free people.

^ This way of thinking is out dated.
Did you not see the Chinese edition Wrangler released this year?
you need to read some...
"Any trip to Walmart reveals the unavoidable: Chinese products are taking over our homes. But the Chinese thirst for American-badged cars is similarly vast. American automakers are poised to sell more than 2.5 million vehicles in China this year. With U.S. and European car markets stagnating, sales to the Chinese are essential to the U.S. auto industry’s health.
Indeed, through the first half of this year, GM has sold more cars in China (1.2 million vehicles) than in the U.S. (1.08 million). And GM expects to sell more than three million cars there annually within five years. But Ford isn’t faring as well in China—GM outsells the blue-oval brand four to one. So what is GM doing right in China, and what is Ford doing wrong? And what can we expect in the future?" (Car and Driver, 2010)
PS: get back on topic

Whatever. The point is the Chinese buy stuff from the USA, just as much as we buy from them. Now you're just being absurd in pointing out the date on the material I found with a quick internet search.

See even the ChiComs want made in the USA. ;-)
Ok. Back on topic. When is AEV going to come out with the 2012 Snorkel so the Chinese can steal an American company's intellectual property, manufacture it in a government built building by workers being paid less than minimum wage so I can buy it and save a few bucks?

I think you should just buy another design from the USA manufactures that has parts made outside the USA and you'll be good to go!
By the way, I try to buy USA stuff too. I'm just not so bigoted about it.
