Default Snorkel question.

Has anyone tried or seen in person one of the $180 snorkels off eBay? They appear to be just like the expensive ones but I was curious.

I've heard of a few people running them with no issues. Got my Rugged Ridge one for ~$270 from ExtremeTerrain here on the forum. Could do that if you want a name brand one.

Yep, running mine for about a year now. No issues with the install and it's held up great. I'd recommend it to anyone. Just be prepared for the debate about knockoffs vs AEV...it's bound to come up.

Great "knockoff AEV snorkel".

I'm looking to buy one myself when I get the funds in snorkel fund saved up.

Everything I've seen and heard is they are just as good as the more expensive ones. Sometimes though your hardware will be missing so you have to run to Home Depot or Lowes or Ace Hardware ans spend $5.

From what I heard, the price of the AEV snorkels may be going up. One more reason for the eBay route...

That would suck, they're already overpriced for a plastic tube.

Has anyone Done a side by side comparison of both the AEV snorkel and the "knock off" AEV snorkel?

How hard is this to install because it said it doesn't come with directions.
