I'm going to do my own snorkel as well. I do intend to cut a hole in the fender so it won't be like what you want. But this shows how I've relocated my battery and where I put the CAI that's going to be replaced with an aluminum air box.

There's an outfit out of Germany that builds snorkels that come out of the cowl. Two designs. Maybe you can get some ideas...

All depends if you like the look and style....

I built my own for my last truck, I think it looked really good. I got a ton of compliments on it and it worked great. Just used 3inch PVC, Black Bed Liner and an ARB Scoop.

I was planning on making a trim ring for the body hole but, never got around to it before selling the truck.

Now that's what I'm talking about.

Umm... I'd give it an "A" for creativity and a "B-" for looks. A little too "industrial" for me. However, for comparison I'd give the AEV a "C" for the lantern on the end and the RR a "D" for way too square. So in the end, you came out quite good!

Now, if it performs....

If you use primer and glue, it will have no performance issues. Not my cup of tea, but good luck with it.

finally! ive been askin this in all the other snorkel discussion threads and people seemed to think i was crazy/cheap for wanting to build my own. im considering trying to make one out of sheet metal. basically imitating RR's look. not sure how hard that would be though. im waiting on someone to take some measurements and more pictures of their RR for me.
Lord Aries- that snorkel looks awesome on that truck. im not sure how a round one would look on the JK though. personally i think the square shape of RR's works really well with the JK. good work though.
