Default Smittybuilt winch plate

Probably a stupid question, but here it goes.....

Was giving a XRC8, and this winch plate for christmas

Do the winch plates have a semi universal pattern, so is there a chance this will work on the jk?

You can't put this plate on a stock bumper; only on aftermarket bumper.

Example: Rough Country has a plate for a stock bumper. It includes the hardware to fix the plate to the frame (plate doesn't touch the bumper)
A few other manufacturers have a plate for a stock bumper.

Here is another option that should soon be available. I'm waiting on this to hopefully accommodate my needs. If I can't get it or it won't work, I might have to do something custom and work with my local shop...

Here's a link to what I am waiting on... https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...ed+winch+mount

If you don't want to take the plate back, have a welder look at it. There's pretty much nothin' you can't mod to make work. Just depends on how much you want to mod something. Maybe an easy fix.....???

I got it to work! it was very simple, just time consuming...I just drilled 3 holes in the frame, and dropped in 3 bolts, along with washers, and lock washers! Worked like a charm!!!
