Default Smittybilt XRC question !!!!

I'm considering the XRC Modular bumper for my JK. The one thing about Smittybilt bumpers is that you can't use the OEM fog lights at all. I'm trying to figure out if by getting this bumper...can I use the wiring that already comes for the fog lights to mount a set small KC's on the bull bar or anywhere on the bumper? In other words, mount extra lights and still use the fog lights control on the steering wheel to turn on. Otherwise I will have to deal with dangling fog lights wires. I'm trying to avoid installing another set of KC's on the bumpers and having to run wiring to my battery again (Already have windshield lights) not to mention looking for another spot for the light switch.

Yes, as long as you keep pretty close to the wattage of the factory fog lights. Get some ridgid industries dually's or d2's they are really bright and poison spyder makes a nice kit to mount them in the fog light location

Factory fogs are 45w each. I use Hella at 55w each spliced into the factory fog light wiring/switch.
No problems at all.

I had a Smitty XRC and the KC slim light fogs on my 2010 JK just used original wire and connected KC wires to factory wires no problem worked great. I have a 2013 JK now and gonna try the same thing with rigid fog lights. Anyone else do this? Did you just cut the wire after the "plug" and wire it in?

That sounds cool. Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I'm going with the XRC and get some fog light to match. Now, does that bumper or the grill guard come with light mounting holes. Will I have to drill to add extra lights?

On the 2011's and up the fog lights are only rated for 24w. Some people have been able to get 35w hids to work with mixed results. Any thing higher just causes them to shut off or not light up at all. If you are gonna use the stock switch for higher wattage lamps you are gonna have to use a relay setup.
