I just installed the xrc front on my 2-door yesterday, and I have the same problem. I just left the 4 bolts out on the bottom. The 8 bolts seem to make it solid as hell already...

I just installed my XRC bumper, and ran into the same problem. What I did after installation, I centered punched as close to dead center as possible, and drilled the 1/2" holes. Put the fastners on with washer and lock washer, and tightened them down bending the washers to the contours of the bend.
