Smittybilt Stainless Hinge Replacements - HELP!
Picked these up today from 4WD Hardware ... Made the mistake of taking both the upper and lower hinges off instead of doing one at a time (no instructions were provided at all!)
Can't seem to get the door to line up properly. I don't have a copy of the FSM with the proper door alignment procedures. Anyone have any tips? This is a nightmare...
I may end up taking it to my local body shop and letting them mess with it before I break something... I was able to get the door to line up pretty close by using the factory body hinges and using the stainless exterior hinges, but it's still close to the bottom and the panel gaps aren't quite even all around. Fortunately I didn't touch the passenger side, just did the driver's.
I have had zero luck searching the web with pictures/reviews/instructions etc. Pretty disappointed. The hinges are excellent quality, however. I will post pics tomorrow, too dark and I'm too tired to do it tonight.
Any help???

I put together mopar half doors (with their hinges) from scratch and got everything to line up pretty well without too much headache and no real experience. I bolted the hinges onto the door where it looked like they should go (based on the full doors) and then closed the door. Once it's closed then loosen the bolts slightly and pick up on the door to move it within the gap and then tighten the bolts up. Open and close the door until it feels right with adjustments in between to get the "close" just right.
