Went over a log and landing on it on this side up front, but this is the rear.
Anyone else ever have this happen to them?
I checked that the mounting bolts were tight, and jacked up the jeep on that side to see if it really does flex that much, but it didn't.

And now you know why body mounted sliders are no good for people who wheel. The whole point of a body mount is to flex. Hit the slider hard enough and it will flex into the body. I've seen some instances where it bends the b-pillar. Now that is a real mess.

But yes, it is common and the solution is to get real sliders. Or, get some tube and plate and weld the sliders to the frame.

Yup. Exactly why I'm jumping for joy seeing I was finally able to sell off my ACE sliders. Especially if you play in the rocks, body mount sliders suck balls.

These actually mount to the frame at the body mount locations, which seem pretty rigid. But shucks, it did flex, regardless. I only upgrade as needed, and this is as good of excuse as any, I suppose. I think I'll first look at fixing the problem with some modification, then if no luck, go big bucks and do it right.
