Default Smittybilt SRC Side Armor Height

I really like the Smittybilt SRC Side Armor but I have 1 concern that pictures may or may not give justice to.

Does the bottom bar of the side armor hang much lower than the frame of the Jeep? I ask because right now I don't have a lift (yet), so if the side armor is going to hang much lower than the Jeep I am sacrificing more ground clearance that I'm not sure I can sacrifice right now. I'm running a '11 Wrangler Sport with 265/76/16 tires so i gained a little height with tires but it is still a stock suspension.

That post gives a very nice side shot of the armor but I can't really tell how far it hangs.

I may be mistaken but I believe someone on here posted they had them and changed them out for the XRC.
The SRC werent strong enough in the middle.

Unfortunately the XRC doesn't seem to have much of a 'step' to it and my wife wont let me get side armor unless it includes a decent step for her since she is short. I know this may limit me in how strong the rail might be but it's a requirement I can't ignore lol.

Another idea would be find when a local Jeep group is having a meet and greet.
Stop by and look at what the others have on theirs and go from there.
Thats pretty much what I did when I got my rig.
Iv gone to several and asked how the owners liked the item.

I recently put on the src side armor and they hardly bend at all. I'm 230 lbs and can bounce in the center and they are solid. I jacked up with the hi lift in the center and there was a slight bend but it didn't touch the body. Decent protection for pretty cheap IMO. Bustabiz from 4wd had the best price around.

Thanks for those pics. I did google it as well as searched this forum. I found some great pics like the ones linked in my initial thread comment. I am mainly looking for info about possibly losing ground clearance since the 'side armor' looks to sit much lower than the 'rocker guards' version. I don't know anyone in person that has these so looking at them in person is a bit hard to do which is why I posted this thread. I've also had trouble finding a good undershot of the side armor. If those threads you linked were pics of the side armor version instead of the rocker guards my questions would be answered since those have fantastic pics of how those versions sit once attached.

Any info about how this sits from anyone is appreciated.

i bought those rockers myself off cjp. They hang flush with the lowest height of the frame. i was banging it up at shamrocked and it is alot tougher than the side armor.

some pics
