I got it in this afternoon. After I got off work I decided to Dive right into it. The install was fine but the instructions were poorly written. Good thing I can figure out stuff without step by step instructions.

After I got it installed I set the tire too high so I had to take off the carrier and adjust the height. So it took an extra 15 minutes to get done. I have to say the finish is not as good as TeraFlex. I have a friend with a TeraFlex Carrier/Hinge and his has a better finish. But they both do the same job and as far as I can tell they are the same strength.

I paid $211 less for mine and I'm not trying to win any Jeep Shows. My Jeep has all kinda scratches and stuff from the trails. So I really don't care that the power coating is not as nice. I'll spend the money I saved on stuff that will actually matter like armor or suspension.

Anyways it works great!! You could put a 38 on there no problems. I'm on the 2nd hole on the depth and the Height I'm on a really low setting. I originally had set it high thinking it would need it but after I had it up I could not see out the back or rearview mirror so I decided to bring it down 2 notches.

I'm Happy with the purchase I hope this helps someone out.

I ordered two Smitty bilt heavy duty tire carrier hinges, one works great and this one from DAY ONE sounds like a Tyrannosaurus rex. Emailed Smitty bilt right after purchase and absolutely no reply. In our jeep club everyone else is running teraflex or rugged Ridge. Everyone is laughing at me. So embarrassing.
