I use my ace rails as steps of a sort when putting my daughter in her carseat. No problems slipping, I just make sure I center on the bar when I step, and I'm no lightweight either.

I have the black stick on grit pads to place on my ACE rails. However, neither of my daughters ( 5 and 9) nor my wife have had an issue climbing in. I was waiting for the girls to scratch the rails exactly where I need to apply the non-slip grip.

Stay away from the Smittybilt sliders. I see you have a 4 door. I have seen issues with these damaging the rocker area of a jeep. Smittybilt has yet to make it right. There are a couple threads concerning this here is one. I would go with the ACE, better yet get the EVO Sliders.

I just ordered Ace Rails this week, can't wait to receive them!
I've read a lot of good reviews about them + like that they fit with the Rubi rails. I didn't have Rubi rails, but picked a set up for $125 through the classifieds.
