Default Smitty winch plate or others with stock bumper

I'm trying to keep my JK as light as possible. It is one of the reasons I went back to a two door.

I don't do much wheeling anywhere else but at the beach and miss having a winch.

I have seen some nice set ups using the factory bumper with plates from Olympic, RockHard, harbor Freight, Maximus 3, etc., but don't like how high they sit.

Has anyone used the Smittybilt SB2804? It looks like it sits a bit lower but I can't find any good pics of it. I know it would be so much easier just to get a bumper, and I have on my last two JK's, but getting a front bumper will lead to me getting a rear bumper and rock rails.

Some pics of the Smitty or some other suggestions would greatly appreciated.

Chopped harbor freight plate inside the stock bumper. I don't think you could sit much lower

I bought and installed a Smittybilt XRC 2nd
gen bumper along with a Smittybilt 10K winch.

The mount in the bumper for the winch is recessed so the winch does not block the
jeep grill whatsoever. It looks great and I
don't feel the need to add a rear bumper or rock rails. I absolutely love the set up. The jeep maintains the refined look with a little bit of attitude !
Go with the synthetic rope !!!

I then added a pair of Rugid Ridge LED lights
and the look great and light up your path like its daytime.

What winch are you using in the stock bumper?

Thanks everyone for the replies. They all look great. Wish there were a more detailed write up. I hate having to run for parts in the middle of a project. Somebody needs to sell a complete kit.
