Lol. LoD made that design change a couple years ago. The VKS are very similar to LoD. Someone may have told him to look at the LoD when designing pre-runner style sliders

Either brand, you can't lose. Best rock slider design in my opinion.

Although, I am a fan of the LoD as well. The Prerunners are pretty much a copy of those. As noted above, the LoD come powder coated. I've beat the absolute shit out of them and they show no signs of failure.
There are some differences between LOD and VKS. VKS puts their braces further out, and closer to the end of the slider. This prevents the slider from flexing up and deflecting into your pinch seam. Its a better design.

VKS uses smaller surface area with the round tube connection vs. the larger square tube of LoD. Therefore, it needs more bracing. We're talking a min of .120 wall in both, and mounted to the frame. The frame will flex before the sliders. I've put some large dents in the DOM tube of the sliders and they haven't even gotten close enough to smell the pinch seam.

I like them both. I run a VKS prerunner front bumper and custom offset front frame side track bar bracket. And I think Vick is a great guy. If I were buying new today, I'd buy the one with a lower price. That said, I do find value in the LoD coming powder coated. So, I'd probably go LoD again.

The traditional rocker has been done and done again, it is time for something new!! Here it is. The Billy Rocker offers a new look along with an impact absorption zone. By using a combination of pieces we have developed the ultimate in rocker protection. Titan Tub Armor is the foundation for the Billy. The Tub Armor attaches directly to the body to help distribute the force from impacts and protects the side of the Jeep from any rogue rocks not found by the outer wrap. The space frame is then attached to the underside of the body and the Tub Armor. The space frame actually absorbs impacts and transfers the force along the Tub Armor. The final component to the Billy Rocker is the outer wrap. The outer wrap is the first line of defense. This piece not only attaches to the space frame but it also goes underneath the vehicle and attaches to the body mounts. By attaching to the body mounts we have been able to create a mini boat side that protects the body mounts completely and gives a nice flat surface to slide over obstacles. All of the components are made from 3/16" aluminum which means at the end of the day there is 9/16" of material between the body and the rocks. Never before has there been a rocker that provides this much protection.
