Default skyjacker trackbar braces

ok, after talking to the skjacker rep last night, he said i should be running a trackbar relocation bracket and brace instead of adj. track bars. i know he is just trying to sell stuff but i am really interested in this brace. has anyone seen it yet? they arent expensive. the back one i can get for about $40 bucks and the front isn t available yet. anyway, you are suppost to use the relocation bracket, but i think i can make gussets to the brace from the factory bracket. he is going to send me one from a prototype lift kit for free, so i am going to try it.

maybe in the front it will help wit haxle flex and i can gusset it into the tube as well? seeing what some of you guys think of this.

If it helps, I just had the wife's trac bar bracket welded back to the axle tube after it broke because of the lever arm the relocation bracket (Skyjacker) put on it while wheelin'. Just received the Superlift adjustable trac bar. Will install this week.

I just installed a superlift front adj bar. Be careful when screwing in the heim joint. If it goes down and then stops or gets very difficult to screw in, it needs a tap ran down it. Mine did this and when I looked in the threads, they were kinda rusty. The heim joint wouldnt budge even with a big pipe wrench on it. I went and got a tap, size is 3/4-16, and ran it down there, took care of the problem. Pissed me off though cause the tap cost 32 bucks, which negated the savings on using a Superlift bar which was much cheaper, but yet still very strong, over a TF or other brand.

well i am not going to run a relocation bracket after i just spent a little over $300 for the teraflex track bars. but i am considering using the braces and trying to use the front as a axle truss too. they are cheap like $40!

JKS is built to take the abuse.

DO NOT run the skyjacker front track bar relocation bracket up front as it is mounted to the axle and it WILL eventually lead to the breaking of your mount. there are plenty of people who have already experienced this here and i'd hate for this to happen to you as well. as far as the rear goes, EVEN with the additional support brace, there have been members here who have experienced cracking/tearing at the axle mount and i would NOT recommend using this either.

if you have adjustable track bars, you are in good shape and they are what you want. IF you have 4" of lift or more, installing a drop bracket up front that is mounted to the frame (or on the axle if it is welded on like what currie offers) in conjunction to installing a dropped pitman arm isn't such a bad idea. bringing your track bar and drag link more level to your axle as is stock is something that you want. in the rear, it's not as necessary but if you decide to install a relocation bracket, i would only go with one that is mounted to the frame or is welded onto the axle like what currie makes or is heavily supported with a bracket that gets u-bolted on like what teraflex makes.
